WISS International Camps
What Is WISS?
Waterloo Independent Secondary School is a private Canadian university preparatory school for students in grades 7 - 12. WISS was founded in 2013 and is registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education.
WISS also offers our International Camp programs for younger students to enjoy during summer break. International Camp is a great way for students to become familiar with WISS if they are considering attending in the future.
WISS International Camps
At WISS International Camp, elementary school-aged children have the opportunity to learn English, have fun adventures with their peers, learn more about Canadian culture, and see some amazing sites throughout Southern Ontario.

Who Should Attend WISS International Camp?
Students who think they may want to attend a Canadian university in the future can greatly benefit from WISS International Camps.
Even if your child is still unsure about their post-secondary career (they do have lots of time to think about it) attending a Canadian camp provides an excellent opportunity to learn English and develop existing English language skills.
In order to get accepted into Canadian universities, international students must be able to show that they can adequately understand English. For example, the University of Toronto states:
“If English is not your first language (i.e. is not the first language you learned at home as a child), you will need to provide evidence of adequate English facility for admission consideration, unless you qualify for an exemption.”
